Setting up a website is the very first step of an Internet marketing campaign, and the success or failure of your site depends greatly on how specifically you have defined your Website goals. If you don’t know what you want your site to accomplish, it will most likely fail to accomplish anything. Without goals to guide you in developing and monitoring your website, all your site will be is an online announcement that you are in business.

If you expect your site to stimulate some form of action, whether it is visitors filling out a form so a representative can contact them, or purchasing a product, there are steps you can take to insure that your website is functioning at peak efficiency. One of the first indicators of how well your site is working for you is finding out the number of visitors in a given period of time. A good baseline measurement is a month in which you haven’t been doing any unusual offline promotional activities.

However, just because hoards of people have passed through your gates does not mean your site is successful. Usually, you want those visitors to actually do something there. It is equally important to monitor the number of visitors to your site who have made a purchase. This figure is called the site conversion rate, and it is an essential element of the efficacy of your website.

To find the site conversion rate, take the number of visitors per month and figure out the percentage of them that actually performed the action your site is set up for. For example, if you had 2,000 hits to your site, but only 25 of them purchased your product, your site conversion rate equals 1.25%. To get this figure, take your number of visitors and divide that figure by the number of visitors who made a purchase. Then divide that result by 100 (2500 X 100).

If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion rates are. This is because not everyone who fills out your form will actually become your customer. However, whether your site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will measure the success or failure of your website whenever you make changes to the site.

You may find that you need to implement some additional marketing strategies if you find that traffic to your site is extremely low. There are several effective methods to improve the flow of traffic to your website, particularly launching a search engine optimization campaign. This campaign is targeted at increasing your position in search engine results so that consumers can find your pages faster and easier. You can either research the steps you need to take to improve your search engine rankings, or employ a search engine optimization Company to do the work for you. In either case, after your have improved your search engine positions, make sure you keep on top of them by regular monitoring and adjusting of your efforts to maintain high positions.

Another factor to examine is how easy it is for a visitor to your website to accomplish the action the site is set-up for. For example, if your goal is for the visitor to fill out a form, is this form easily accessible, or does the visitor have to go through four levels to get to it? If it’s too difficult to get to, the customer may just throw in the towel and move on to another site. Make sure your buttons are highly visible, and the path to your form or ordering page quickly accessible.

Finally, have a professional evaluate the copy on your website. The goal is, of course, to get your visitor to make a purchase or fill out your form. Website copy must be specifically geared to your online campaign and not just a cut and paste job from your company brochure. The right copy can make the difference between profit and loss in your online campaign.

Analyzing your web traffic statistics can be an invaluable tool for a number of different reasons. But before you can make full use of this tool, you need to understand how to Interpret the data.

Most web hosting companies will provide you with basic web traffic information that you then have to Interpret and make pertinent use of. However, the data you receive from your host company can be overwhelming if you don’t understand how to apply it to your particular business and website . Let’s start by examining the most basic data – the average visitors to your site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

These figures are the most accurate measure of your website’s activity. It would appear on the surface that the more traffic you see recorded, the better you can assume your website is doing, but this is an inaccurate perception. You must also look at the behavior of your visitors once they come to your website to accurately gauge the effectiveness of your site.

There is often a great misconception about what is commonly known as “hits” and what is really effective, quality traffic to your site. “Hits” simply means the number of information requests received by the server. If you think about the fact that a hit can simply equate to the number of graphics per page, you will get an idea of how overblown the concept of hits can be. For example, if your homepage has 15 graphics on it, the server records this as 15 hits, when in reality we are talking about a single visitor checking out a single page on your site. As you can see, hits are not useful in Analyzing your website Traffic.

The more visitors that come to your website , the more accurate your Interpretation will become. The greater the traffic is to your website , the more precise your analysis will be of overall trends in visitor behavior. The smaller the number of visitors, the more a few anomalous visitors can distort the analysis.

The aim is to use the web traffic statistics to figure out how well or how poorly your site is working for your visitors. One way to determine this is to find out how long on average your visitors spend on your site. If the time spent is relatively brief, it usually indicates an underlying problem. Then the challenge is to figure out what that problem is.

It could be that your keywords are directing the wrong type of visitors to your website , or that your graphics are confusing or intimidating, causing the visitor to exit rapidly. Use the knowledge of how much time visitors are spending on your site to pinpoint specific problems, and after you fix those problems, continue to use time spent as a gauge of how effective your fix has been.

Additionally, web traffic stats can help you determine effective and ineffective areas of your website . If you have a page that you believe is important, but visitors are exiting it rapidly, that page needs attention. You could, for example, consider improving the link to this page by making the link more noticeable and enticing, or you could improve the look of the page or the ease that your visitors can access the necessary information on that page.

If, on the other hand, you notice that visitors are spending a lot of time on pages that you think are less important, you might consider moving some of your sales copy and marketing focus to that particular page.

As you can see, these statistics will reveal vital information about the effectiveness of individual pages, and visitor habits and motivation. This is essential information to any successful Internet marketing campaign.

Your website undoubtedly has exit pages, such as a final order or contact form. This is a page you can expect your visitor to exit rapidly. However, not every visitor to your site is going to find exactly what he or she is looking for, so statistics may show you a number of different exit pages.

This is normal unless you notice an exit trend on a particular page that is not intended as an exit page. In the case that a significant percentage of visitors are exiting your website on a page not designed for that purpose, you must closely examine that particular page to discern what the problem is.

Once you pinpoint potential weaknesses on that page, minor modifications in content or graphic may have a significant impact on the keeping visitors moving through your site instead of exiting at the wrong page.

After you have analyzed your visitor statistics, it’s time to turn to your keywords and phrases. Notice if particular keywords are directing a specific type of visitor to your site. The more targeted the visitor – meaning that they find what they are looking for on your site, and even better, fill out your contact form or make a purchase – the more valuable that keyword is.

However, if you find a large number of visitors are being directed – or should I say misdirected – to your site by a particular keyword or phrase, that keyword demands adjustment. keywords are vital to bringing quality visitors to your site who are ready to do business with you. Close analysis of the keywords your visitors are using to find your site will give you a vital understanding of your visitor’s needs and motivations.

Finally, if you notice that users are finding your website by typing in your company name, break open the champagne! It means you have achieved a significant level of brand recognition, and this is a sure sign of burgeoning success.

1. How many people will be using the tools?

The thing is that different “SEO” tools and services have different licensing options. If there’ll be just one person using the tools, you can go for a single-person license. If you want to equip a group of people you’ll need to provide each one with a license. Many software providers have flexible licensing options allowing you to get multi-user licenses with a nice discount.

2. Where will the tools be used?

Will you be using the tools just on your office PC or do you intend to work with them at home, on your laptop when traveling, etc? Some tools are licensed per computer, others – per person meaning you can install them on several machines, given you only work on one at a time.

3. Will all “SEO” jobs be done by one person or not?

If you have just one “SEO” guy who’ll be taking care of the whole optimization campaign you may opt for an all-in-one “SEO” package. However if you have an in-house team of several members who specialize in different aspects of “SEO” (one person does keyword research, another one is responsible for link building, etc.) you’ll be better off with task-specific “SEO” tools.

4. Do you need client reporting?

If you do “SEO” yourself for your own website you don’t really need advanced reporting facilities with pretty graphs and eye-candy charts. However if you provide “SEO” services or intend to start doing this in the future, you need to pay close attention to the tools’ reporting functions: which formats do they support, can you brand and customize the reports, etc.

5. Is the project ongoing or to you need the tools for a certain time period?

Some “SEO” tools are subscription based; others are sold on a one-off-payment basis. When you know the time frame of your project it’s easier for you to choose the right subscription period.

6. What goals you want to achieve with the tools?

It’s important to remember that ranking on top for your keywords is not the ultimate aim. You don’t need search rankings; you need visitors, subscribers, clients and sales to grow your business. It’s important to clearly set your goals from the very beginning so that you are able to tell whether the tools you’ve purchased really drive you towards your goal, or if you need to try something else.

7. How will you be measuring success?

To be able to estimate the value that your “SEO” tools or subscription service brings you need to decide how you’ll be measuring success. There may be several success metrics such as: rankings, traffic, conversions, ROI, etc. The success metrics may differ depending on the “SEO” task: e.g. if you managed to unearth some really lucrative keywords but failed to get good rankings for them that means, you have a good keyword tool but you need to search for a better link building tool.

It’s important to come up with success metrics before you start using any “SEO” tools, so that you can measure your manual productivity and evaluate how your “SEO” tools help you boost your efficiency and whether they are worth the investment made.

Why to Avoid Lead Generation Services and Get Your Own Leads - Thu, 26 Jan 2012
What is a lead generation service? It is a service designed to find leads for their clients. As any business owner or Internet Marketer knows, you can't sell your products if you don't have customers to sell them to. And a lead generation service is in the business of delivering those customers to you. At least, that is the theory.

But a lead generation service isn't the right solution for everyone. In fact, for many, it would be in their best interest to learn to generate their own leads. And here are some reasons why.

Money Is an Issue..

A lead generation service costs money. And the better and more reliable such a service is, the more it will cost you. Of course, as you become more and more successful as an affiliate marketer, and commissions from affiliate sales begin to fill your bank account, you might not mind paying for such a service. But, until then, you should keep in mind that generating leads yourself is cheaper. In fact, there are some lead generation methods that are absolutely free.

Where Did They Get The Leads?

Imagine this scenario. You go to a lead generation service that gives you a great deal on a list of leads. And they swear the people on the list are itching to buy a product in your niche. It sounds pretty good. Until you start contacting the folks on that list. Some of the leads are legit. But over half of them are defunct email addresses and disconnected phone numbers. So you didn't get what you paid for. But there's no guarantee that you will be able to get your money back. Or that the service you used didn't know some of the leads they gave weren't legit in the first place.

By generating leads yourself, you can be certain the leads are legit.

Are the Leads Willing?

How the lead generation service goes about getting the leads can have a major affect on how receptive the people on that list are to being sold to. You don't want to start sending messages to people who are just going to mark your emails as spam, and get you in hot water with your auto responder service.

By generating leads yourself, you can rest assured that the folks you are promoting to be open to receiving your messages and if you are scared of doing all this on your own, there is training on list building available as well.

Using a lead generation service might seem like a simple solution. But you will find that, when all is said and done, you will have fewer hassles and more peace of mind if you generate your leads yourself.

Choose Financial Freedom - How to Tell If a Wealth Creation Opportunity is For Real - Sun, 23 Oct 2011

Choose Financial Freedom with EZ Wealth..

Looking for a way out of the rat race? Feel like you should be paid what you are worth? Tired of lining your boss's pockets with the money earned by your hard work?

You are not alone. Thousands upon thousands of people feel this way, especially after the recent market crash tied them to their jobs and halved their stock values. Everyday, at least 100,000 people Google "home based business" opportunities before noon, looking for a better way.

Network Marketing

One of the simplest, cheapest methods to attain Financial Freedom in this troubled economy is through network marketing. Well-known Entrepreneurs Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump have both stated that if they lost everything and had to start over, they would choose network marketing as their wealth creation vehicle.

When researching a network marketing company, it is important to take certain factors into account to ensure that you will have the environment you need for your business to grow. Three factors of this industry and their importance or lack thereof will affect your direct success: startup costs, product line and training/support.

Startup Costs?

As far as startup costs, should you choose to start your own business, you get what you pay for. "Top-Tier" Direct Sales companies that sell high-ticket items yielding higher commissions, can sometimes cost $2000 on the low end and $20,000 to position yourself at the top of the compensation plan.

$20,000 to start a business at the top is far cheaper than purchasing a franchise and, due to your best efforts, may take far less time to earn money. Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad also informs us that investing in any brick-and-mortar business can take as long as 3 years without a paycheck to turn a profit.

Some network marketing companies will provide many conveniences that others do not. Do your due diligence comparing what you learn about different companies before choosing one, and be prepared to pay for these conveniences as they are there to help you out.

You simply have to decide if you are willing to invest whatever it takes for as long as it takes to reap the greater rewards. This includes time, energy and/or money. Are you willing to relentlessly work your business on the front end to achieve an easy, abundant life on your own terms forevermore?

Products?

The products sold by your business may be perks, but are not essential to a rockstar business. Do not let that fool you into thinking you have to have the best, cheapest or most efficient items to offer your customers. This mode of thinking will most certainly work against you. Remember this: Above all else, you are marketing yourself as a leader.

According to Internet Marketing Gurus Jay Kubassek and Mike Dillard, you are providing a solution to your prospect's problem, which is worth infinitely more than products. With a powerful marketing system directed at the correct target audience, it is possible to market almost any product out there. Any successful entrepreneur inherently understands this on one level or another, but the majority of people don't, which is why only 5% of people who enter network marketing ever become top earners.

"Am I the leader others will follow?"

If you are not positioned at this point as the leader your prospects are looking for, then you should look for a marketing system in which you can leverage the company top earners' successes and knowledge to attract your customers FOR you until you feel confident to present your own success story. Everyone has to start somewhere, and you should not have to suffer for it.

Never join a company that would have you create bogus success stories. EZ Wealth Solutions does not offer "bogus Success Stories.." Your prospects will sense that you are not being honest with them and will write you off as a scam, discrediting you, your products and your company.

Beyond leveraging your upline's success, you will want to invest in your own knowledge, increasing your value to society. As well as investing time, energy and advertising money into your business, you must also be prepared to spend some time in personal development, which is why network marketing is not for everyone. Ask yourself:

"Are you willing to do just as much for yourself as for your boss?"

Surprisingly, most people in the world are not. That is what keeps them in their present position, doing the same things day in and day out.

Training and Support

Different companies have different training regimes. It is possible with the right company and marketing system to have no prior experience in ANY sort of marketing and experience great success.

If you do not at first have what it takes, then you can become what it takes. This does not happen overnight, and it may challenge what others have told you in life, but as you embark on your journey, one of its greatest rewards is the passionate, self-reliant person you become.

No matter whether or not you decide to develop yourself as an entrepreneur, congratulations on having made it this far! By contemplating Financial Freedom and actively seeking solutions, you are a full leg ahead of the majority of the world content to run the rat race forever.

Now, challenge yourself to act!

You deserve to be happy! Set goals. Do your due diligence. You ARE Einstein! You ARE Mozart! Go for the prize!

Viral Marketing Tricks - Fri, 19 Aug 2011

Introduction to Viral Marketing Techniques

Viral Marketing sounds scary, doesnt it? The first time I heard this term I thought someone should be visiting the doctors office. It never occurred to me that this had anything to do with the internet. When it finally did dawnon me that this was a promotional technique, I did not have a clue as to how powerful it could be.

In the begining

I began my relationship with this odd sounding technique by installing greeting cards on my site. I know it sounds small, but greeting cards are actually one of the most powerful techniques of all. Why? Because everyone seems to want to send ecards to their friends, lovers and relatives. Each card contains a link back to your site, which tends to produce visitors.

My next exposure

It was something called tell a friend. This is a simple script, installed in less than an hour, which allows your visitors to, well, tell their friends about your site. This is an excellent way to get people to visit, as virtually everyone will do something that their friends recommend. I have found this does not produce an incredible amount of traffic, but considering only an hour was put into installation, its not bad.

Another Viral Marketing Technique

I have tried creating an email service. I signed up a couple of domains with BigMailBox.Com, which allows me to give away web-based mailboxes. For example, I own the domain naissancefaire.Org. I could link this to BigMailBox.Com, and allow people to send messages to theirname@r... Since every single email that is send from this mailbox contains a link back to my site, it tends to produce some traffic.

Another Common Viral Marketing Technique

Now, we are talking about electronic books. In fact, this is now the big rage. Just create an ebook and give it away! Everyone will want to download it, pass it on to their friends and add it to their own websites for others to download. The truth is that a good ebook, like anything else, will indeed do exactly that. And, of course, a bad ebook will sit there and rot.

Another Great Viral Marketing Technique

(This one I have not personally tried out myself) Is creating a freeware program and giving it away on your web site. Of course links to your website are scattered throughout the program. This tends to produce quite a few visitors, assuming the program is any good.

Then there are CGI Scripts

The same kind of thing can be done with free CGI scripts. You offer the script without warranty on your site, freely given to anyone who wants it. Allow them to post it on their site for free download also. Before long, you could find yourself getting a steady stream of visitors looking for those scripts.

Another Excellent Viral Marketing Technique

Is to write articles and post them on the web, allowing other sites and ezines to post them as well. A small word of caution here: I know from experience this can produce phenomenal amounts of traffic very quickly so be prepared.

I am sure you can think of dozens or even hundreds of other ways to get in on this bandwagon. I will tell you one thing that I have learned - the search engines are worthless in comparison to link exchanges and viral marketing. Also, I have found these techniques are much more fun and much less prone to the whims of some search engine company.
